- Staying Rooted: Civic Engagement in Washington DC
Ignite Talk
The DC Public Library is engaging District residents in civic understanding and action in the nation’s capital – where we are surrounded by the forces of the federal government but we ourselves do not have federal representation. We lean into our core value “Stay Rooted”: standing up for DC, advocating for others, and representing our community. In practice, that means focusing on local government and local actions, and how people can make their neighborhoods and the District stronger.
