Session

Create a window into the community, into the world, into imagination by using hyper-local characteristics to unlock discovery, caregiver/child connection, and foster a love of libraries and learning for the next generation.

In this playful community building workshop, attendees will learn about the successful implementation of a system-wide regionally themed playspace in Spokane, Washington, United States.

Following the case study presentation and overview of the landscape of play in libraries, attendees will gather in small groups for play-based interactive sessions to evaluate how to foster play in their own systems. Prompts will encourage a focus on hyper-local elements to unlock discovery, imagination, and learning.

Learn how to create a playful infrastructure that can live beyond the walls of the library through collateral, stories, and memories that last a lifetime.

Maximum capacity: 50 people
