- Comic making group for Dyslexic children
Ignite Talk
Bray Library Comic Club was designed in response to research findings which highlighted the need for self-esteem boosting interventions for children with Dyslexia. Our program is an anti-perfectionism comic making group for Dyslexic children aged 10-12. We build self-esteem through reading for pleasure, critical thinking, raucous debate, and making comics.
Attendees will gain an understanding of the impact of Dyslexia on self-esteem, the role of creativity in developing confidence, the magic of a good graphic novel, and the success Bray Library Comic Club had in helping support a group of twenty children find their voice with the help of a group of cartoon frogs.
