Traditional library information services are in crisis. Or dead.
According to a survey done by the Helsinki City Library in 2022, the majority of respondents didn’t consider the library as a place to ask about anything other than books.
During the pandemic not a single person walked into Helsinki public libraries requesting help for finding reliable information sources about the virus or vaccinations. There’s a war in Europe, yet no one asks the library to help them find information about it. At the same time the need for reliable information is drastic.
What could we do to help burst the information bubbles?
