All features of the modern library in your pocket, on the kitchen table, and on your wrist. That’s what Bibliotheek AanZet (NL) is building on.

We have captured our ambitions in three horizons, and we have developed a scalable and shareable web platform in collaboration with other Dutch libraries that incorporates a book recommender system based on machine learning. And, following the OF/BY/FOR/ALL principles, a tech solution to collect users’ interests. This enables us to build programs, services, and events with and for our communities. We are welcoming more libraries to join this collaboration and co-create this digital revolution.

Bas Hüsstege (44) is Head of Market & Innovation at Bibliotheek AanZet, Netherlands. He is firm believer that libraries should act now on digitalization and hybrid forms of service, in order to remain relevant for their target audience.

As Program Manager Digital Library at Bibliotheek AanZet, Ronald Capelle (32) is the driving force behind the Virtual Library Platform, a grassroots infrastructure that has now expanded throughout the Netherlands and hopefully more.
