More than a conference
A NEXT LIBRARY® event is an international gathering of forward-thinking library professionals, innovators and decision-makers who are pushing boundaries and making changes that support learning in the 21st century.
WHAT IS NEXT LIBRARY?
Next Library was created by Aarhus Public Libraries in Denmark. The purpose of a Next Library event is to look ahead and explore the ever-evolving nature of the public library in the 21st century.
The aim of Next Library events is to involve attendees as much as possible in creating the ideas, topics, and formats in order to ensure the relevance and opportunities for networking and learning for the attendees from libraries all over the world.
Next Library Satellites
Satellites are Next Library events outside of Aarhus, Denmark. So far there has been two Next Library® Satellites, organized in collaboration with Aarhus Public Libraries. In 2014 the Chicago Public Library and the Urban Libraries Council hosted the first Next Library® Satellite.
In 2018, the Next Library Satellite Conference was hosted by Zentral- und Landesbibliothek Berlin (ZLB) and the Kulturstiftung des Bundes in cooperation with the Kulturprojekte Berlin GmbH.
