Session

Garden to Connect are urban  gardens made from up-cycled plastic-pipes, cut-offs from construction sites. These tiny gardens provide a practical connection from soil and plants to Sustainable Development Goals and Inner Development Goals (SDG’s and IDG’s). They demonstrate, how acces to grow plants relates to democracy and how gardening can be playfull, instructive and social all at once.

No matter how urban and tiny a bit of nature we engage in, it activates our sense of belonging, it supports co-operation and mutual learning – it bridges language barriers – and it opens a ‘garden of options’ to develop further projects, e.g. relating to biodiversity, food production, compost and seed-libraries, just to mention af few.

Gardens also provide a brilliant stage for co-operation with civil society, individuals as well as institutions, from kindergardens to nursing homes, a place to gather and share stories.
